Language is not necessary for communication to take place; in fact, its excessive complexity may sacrifice simplicity of understanding and the role of empathy during the communicative process. Going even further, plants themselves communicate without possessing consciousness, so when they come into contact with animals, communication could simply be seen as the coexistence of beings in nature.

This work belongs to the series “Alterations”, composed of paired pieces that show the before — nature in its pure and balanced state, offering us benefits if we coexist with it responsibly — and the after, where the previous scene appears altered by a negative human action, selfish and self-interested, where often it is not enough to strip nature of its vitality, but it even becomes a waste by failing to properly make use of the resources obtained.
