Harmonious coexistence with nature can fill the spirit in a grander way than any achievement, depending, I imagine, on the sensitivity of each being and their relationship with their surroundings — a task that becomes more difficult the greater the mental or emotional hermeticism, or the more disconnected the individual is from their primordial roots. Animals do not need to stop and think; feeling is their main form of communication and understanding of the whole, where the grey clouds of the soul escape when a human being manages to reach that connection.

This work belongs to the series “Alterations”, composed of paired pieces that show the before — nature in its pure and balanced state, offering us benefits if we coexist with it responsibly — and the after, where the previous scene appears altered by a negative human action, selfish and self-interested, where often it is not enough to strip nature of its vitality, but it even becomes a waste by failing to properly make use of the resources obtained.
